Find Your Yoga!
Yoga Benefits span from mental relaxation to spritual health to increased strength, flexibilty, & balance. We are all where we are at different points in our lives - or for that matter even at different points in our days. The Yoga House offers an array of class types for this very reason. Try them all! It's like a yoga buffet!
As you will note above, several TYH Classes are offered in a heated room. Never tried heated yoga? Wonder why anyone does? Here's why we practice in the heat:
- SKIN: find that "yoga glow." It's a real thing! Your pores open up and are cleared, allowing your skin's naturally occurring lanolin to release, thereby softening the skin
- DETOX: flush toxins from the glands and organs and cleanse the entire body!
- FOCUS: hot classes are a challenge it's true; in addition to the asana, we practice concentration (dharana) to move past distraction of heat and sweat
- FLEXIBILITY: muscles and joints are immediately warmed, creating a fire within (tapas) and allowing for freer range of motion and better depth of postures
- THAT EUPHORIC FEELING: see "yoga glow" above. After all of the above there is no doubt about a renewed feeling of energy and bliss after working hard and doin such good for the body. Join us!
At TYH, our heated classes (Equator, Power Hour and Fire) are warmed with radiant heat. Not forced air like most other studios or even what many of us have in our homes. Radiant heaters are 30-50% more energy efficent than other heating systems and warm you like the sun does - they heat objects not air, so it feels sorta like laying out by the pool on a sunny day. Even if the air temperature by the pool is not that hot, you'll sweat quickly because of the radiant heat of the sun. So yes, that's right... we said it... heated yoga is like being at the pool. Come try it!
